Reporting: The Aircraft Maintenance Technician reports directly to the Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor.
Responsibilities: The Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) is responsible for safely inspecting, repairing, and maintaining aircraft in accordance with acceptable practices, manufacturer’s guidelines and Federal Aviation Regulations. Daily tasks are based on operational and maintenance priorities and assigned by the Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor. Most tasks will require the AMT to work as part of a team with other technicians. This position requires some travel and the ability to work flexible hours, occasional overtime, alternate scheduling, and weekends as needed to support the operation.
Duties:
A. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and return aircraft to service.
B. Demonstrate superior technical skills and expertise in aircraft systems, testing and troubleshooting.
C. Read and decipher wiring prints, schematics, and other technical documents.
D. Work as a team in assisting other technicians.
E. Research and order parts and materials as needed to comply with the manufacturer’s maintenance program.
F. Electronically document aircraft parts, materials, repairs, inspections, and servicing in a Maintenance tracking system.
G. Prepare aircraft for departure, to include pre-flight inspections, stocking, towing, loading passenger baggage and supervise fueling of the aircraft.
H. Perform post-flight inspections and daily service on all returning aircraft, in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and Richardson Aviation’s guidelines.
I. Assist with ground movement of aircraft and support equipment.
J. Required to be part of an on-call rotation that works flexible hours and weekends to support operational requirements as needed.
K. Ensure compliance with government regulations, department policies, and manufacturer’s procedures to ensure safety in all maintenance and line operations.
L. Keep all aircraft, building, and support equipment clean, functional, and stored in an orderly manner.
M. Work as part of a maintenance team to assist ground services, parts, Quality Assurance, and other areas of the department, as needed.
N. Perform engine runs and taxi aircraft as needed.
O. Operate heavy/specialized equipment such as scissor lifts, aircraft tow vehicles, power carts, hydraulic mules, and other shop equipment, as needed for the maintenance of company aircraft or facilities.
P. Travel and oversee maintenance being performed by a third-party provider and represent Richardson Aviation during service center visits.
Q. Work is performed in an indoor climate-controlled hangar environment and outdoors with exposure to all types of weather conditions.
R. Participates in department projects and ancillary duties as assigned by Management.
S. Actively participate in the flight department’s Safety Management System.
T. All other duties as assigned by Management.
Requirements
Required Qualifications: A. A current FAA Airframe & Powerplant License.
B. Working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations, Manufacturers Maintenance Programs, Return to Service Criteria and the ability to adhere to Company policies.
C. Excellent communication skills and an ability to work as part of a team.
D. Possess a sense of pride in workmanship and attention to detail.
E. A minimum of 3 years' experience as an aircraft maintenance technician.
F. A mind towards personal growth and learning new skills.
Preferred Qualifications: A. Experience working in a Corporate Flight Department environment.
B. Gulfstream Business Aircraft experience.
C. Strong electrical troubleshooting skills.
D. Experience with modern avionics systems.
